How to Measure a Rectangular Mold for Resin
Measure Length & Width
Measure inside length (longest side) and width (shortest side) from inner edge to inner edge.
Measure the Depth
Measure from the bottom of the mold to your desired fill level. Coatings: 1–3 mm. Casting trays: 0.5–2 cm.
Calculate & Add Waste

Measure length, width, and depth in cm or inches. The formula is V = L × W × D. The result in cubic centimeters equals milliliters.
A 30 × 20 × 1 cm tray needs 600 ml. Add 10% waste = 660 ml.
V = L × W × D. Length × width × depth in cm gives ml. For inches, multiply cubic inches by 16.387 to convert to ml.
